Problemas de Regeneración DPF: Por Qué Su Camión Sigue Pidiendo una Regeneración
Publicado: 2026-06-27
A healthy DPF should go 200-400 miles between automatic regeneration cycles. If your truck is regenerating every 50 miles or less, something is wrong upstream. The DPF is the messenger, not the problem.
Root Causes of Frequent Regeneration
- Worn injectors: Poor spray pattern produces unburned fuel that becomes soot. Injectors should be tested every 250,000 miles.
- Turbo underboost: Insufficient air leads to incomplete combustion. Check for boost leaks and wastegate function.
- EGR valve stuck open: Too much exhaust gas displaces oxygen, causing rich combustion. Clean or replace the EGR valve.
- Oil consumption: Worn rings allow engine oil into the combustion chamber. Oil ash cannot be burned off by regeneration and permanently plugs the DPF.
The White Glove Test
Wipe the inside of your DPF outlet pipe with a clean white glove. If you find black soot, your DPF is cracked internally and must be replaced — regeneration will never fix it.
